ASSERTION 10 – Digital and Data Governance Compliance
2025 to 2026

Assertion 10 of the AGAR 3 (annual governance and accountability return) is a new requirement for English councils which formalises digital and data compliance. It requires councils to have an IT policy, use council owned domain for official emails, ensure the website meets accessibility standards and complies with all data protection legislation like the UK GDPR.
